I grew up in Topsham, a fishing village close to Exmouth on the South Devon coast. My earliest memories are of the Estuary with its whispering mud flats and myriad birds, the sea and wonderful ever changing skies. These have been my inspiration for jewellery in 30 years of designing and making. Now I live in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire close to the Grand Union canal and river Soar which are glorious habitats for thriving wildlife. My jewellery practice is increasingly focussed on making pieces which evoke memories and emotions in the wearer. I am fortunate to have joined ArtSpace Loughborough, a community of artists, and this has given me the oppourtunity to exhibit my work locally.
This is an example of my Gingko leaf inspired jewellery. Silver earrings inlaid with red gold.
